Chair's Message
As President of the Healthcare Quality Coalition of Colorado (HQCC), I would like to thank you for your continuous support and interest during the past few years.
The purpose of the HQCC organization is to bring together a variety of health care professionals including nurses, doctors, administrators, health plan representatives and others directly or indirectly involved in health care quality. HQCC is dedicated to improving the quality of health care delivered to patients in Colorado through the sharing of information, providing continuing educational opportunities for our members and providing a forum for members to network and learn from other health care professionals.
The annual membership meeting was held in March 2008. During this meeting the 2008 election was finalized and organizational goals were established. Please see the list of the 2008 goals at the bottom of the page. This year's election was ended successfully, however, the President Elect position is yet to be filled. I like to take this opportunity to encourage our members to submit their names to fill this position. The Board of Directors is eager to hear from you and is actively searching to fill this position.
HQCC 2008 Goals
- Continue to expand membership to cover the continuum of healthcare delivery and all regions of Colorado.
- Conduct CPHQ prep course and/or QM 101 training program.
- Offer a minimum of two additional educational sessions for members in 2008.
- Include a list serve in website and keep the information updated
- Collaborate with other like organizations on educational offerings including other NAHQ affiliated state organizations.
- Expand presence of HQCC at key conferences including but not limited to NAHQ, Colorado Patient Safety Coalition, Colorado Clinical Guideline Collaborative.
- Continue to survey members annually about their willingness to participate and thus pave the way for a strong state organization.
- Consider additional ways in which HQCC can serve as an advocate for quality healthcare in the state of Colorado.
- Continue to support the goals and mission of NAHQ.
- Create an education committee to organize and facilitate educational activities
- Engage members with the organization through education
This year's education calendar is filled with up to date and interesting topics. The Board of Directors is eager to offer you as many education opportunities as possible to fulfill your needs for learning and net working with other healthcare professionals.
I am very optimistic and thrilled about this year's organization goals and I know that together we can make a big difference.
